The Cardinal and many other birds that hunt along the Town Creek in Columbia observed the Lindsey Wilson Football Team Members hard at work, clearing debris blocking the water. Town Creek flows year-round, fed by natural springs, and catches garbage in times of high water and re-distributes it when it gets into the valley. It was only one of the projects the volunteers on Coach Oliver's Team worked on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. This event is one of two dates each year where students give their time to serve on local projects to help make this a better place. The other is a September event called Malvina Farkle Day. On the Lindsey Wilson College Football Team day of service in Columbia, one of the miscellaneous items pulled out of Town Creek included a pink small child’s scooter, complete with an attached tiny plastic purse, that some little girl has probably missed.
