Shell, age 54, was convicted of Marijuana Cultivation and of being a First-Degree Persistent Felony Offender in Casey County Circuit Court Monday, May 6, 2019. Plants had been spotted growing in an area near Bryant Ridge Road in Casey County. Investigators discovered 409 Marijuana plants and several items of evidence which linked Shell to the marijuana. Testimony at trial revealed that the plants had an estimated street value in excess of $818,000, with the potential to produce over 400 pounds of processed marijuana.
