Tommy writes, "Watching the big rigs heading west as I stand on the Powell Road overpass. I've lived near the Cumberland Parkway for over eleven years and it seems the traffic has more than doubled in that amount of time."

Engineering students recognized at MLCHS

Graham Waggener, left, and Teddy Lea, right, display the mechanical pencils that they received for completing work in the Engineering Pathway at Martha Layne Collins High School. Graham and Teddy are finishing up their junior year. Teddy's parents are Karen (Loy) Lea and Ted Lea, and he is the nephew of Marsha and Tex Reddick, and Graham is the grandson of Linda and the late Ed Waggener of Columbia.

Longtime readers may remember this photo from 2011, when the boys realized they both had roots in Adair County.

The Mayor and Mrs. White attended this weekend’s open house at the Trabue-Russell House on Jamestown Street. The historic house/museum is open again on Sunday from 1pmCT until 5pmCT.
