Spring Concert goers packed the Columbia UMC

Adair County Schools music director Ginna Franklin, front center, said she was pleased with the turnout and felt that the kids did a great job. Performances were given by the Adair County Middle School mixed choir, the Adair County High School men’s ensemble and the Adair County high school women’s ensemble.

Eula Helm had a response for Jody

Retired Speaker of the of the Kentucky House of Representatives and Adair County native son, Jody Richards, was guest speaker at the annual Chamber of Commerce banquet Tuesday, May 14, 2019. Eula Helm had a comment for him after his speech where he spoke about his Dad's farm known in his boyhood locally as Demaree's Bottom. Mrs. Helm and family owns that place now so she and the speaker had a good visit about it. She and her grandson, Nick Bright, were there for her daughter, his mother, Teresa Bright, who won the Outstanding Employee of the Year award.

Hemlock plant blooming and needs stamping out
