Writer Christopher Stuchell shares work on CM

Writer Christopher Stuchell, graduate of Adair County High School Class of 2019 published two poems in the Indian University dual-credit program through Lindsey Wilson College.

He releases his poem "Starlight" to CM with its theme of nature, which he said, "seems to be popular on Columbia Magazine."

During high school his involvement has included Future Problem Solvers, Academic Team, Beta, and NHS. Honors and awards received during high school include being Beta/NHS President. Christopher's long range plans are to attend college to major in English and become a teacher.

The sun was out for a while on Saturday afternoon but storm clouds rolled in as the day came to a close. Adair County remains under a flash flood watch through mid day Sunday, June 9, 2019.

Rides: 60s era Cadillac

The excellent research conducted by GWSU about the lack of choice in modern car colors reminded me of this restored Cadillac spotted on Sixth Street in Shelbyville a few weeks ago. One of the things that caught my eye was the lovely two-toned blue and white paint scheme.

Kentucky Color: Shades of Grey

According to our research 91% of 10 year old and younger vehicles on the road are either white, black or nuances of gray. Another 6% are red or a nuance of red. This leaves only 3% of vehicles on the road that might fall into the yellow, green, blue, gold, brown, etc. or nuances of these brighter colors.

Girls Little League Softball season winding down

Adair County Girls Little League Softball season at the Joe Johnson Park in Columbia may be winding down but that doesn't mean these players let up any on their game. Dirt was flying during this close match last week between local teams UCLA vs. Florida State. A unique part of playing girls softball at this level is you get to vote on your team name.
