Casey County teachers honored for excellence

Casey County Schools’ teachers were honored at Campbellsville University’s recent Excellence in Teaching Award Ceremony. Dr. Donna Hedgepath, far left, provost and vice president for academic affairs, and Dr. Lisa Allen, sixth from left, dean of the School of Education, presented the awards. From left are: Hedgepath; Jo Taylor, Walnut Hill Elementary School; Tara Luster, Casey County Middle School; Susan Leathers, Casey County High School; and Allen. Teachers are selected for this honor by their schools to receive Campbellsville University's Excellence in Teaching Award. This is the 33rd annual ceremony held on the Saturday after commencement.

Wheeler Store owner given school photos

Henrietta Scott thinks one of the photos found when she and Jeff bought the Wheeler Grocery Store in Sparksville may be of a young Magistrate Sammy Baker (center) who grew up near there. She's not sure, though, and doesn't know the ones at left and right. Maybe readers can shed light. The board full of school pictures will be sold at auction this Saturday with the building which became their Highland Raku studio.
