It's even better when you have a great mailman like Joey Topping. Topping has been with USPS for 14 years and covers a large area of Columbia. He always carries a smile."

Mark Elam named Lindsey Wilson Archery Coach

Mark Elam has been named Lindsey Wilson archery coach, LWC athletics director Willis Pooler announced today. Elam is the owner and operator of AAA Outdoors in Tompkinsville, Ky., an archery shop that services archery equipment.

Found! Has anyone seen Baby Girl?

Update on Baby Girl: "She has been found. Thanks for posting and thanks especially to the two ladies that found her and stayed with her until we got there to get her."

I took my dog (German Shepherd) to the vet in Columbia this morning and when we opened the door to get her out, she jumped out and took off. Anyone that lives around Hurt St., please keep an eye out for her. She goes by the name "Baby Girl". Allen, Flanagan assuming new responsibilities at CU

Adair County Fiscal Court finalizes Sunday alcohol sales

Sunday alcohol sales passed with a majority of votes by the fiscal court this afternoon. Included on the agenda for the second meeting of June was the "2nd Reading of ABC Ordinance Amendment" which, after several tries during the past couple years, permitted the county to go "wet" on Sundays. With all magistrates present, Chris Reeder made the motion to approve the action and Greg Caldwell seconded it. It passed with a 5-2 margin - Sammy Baker voted no and Billy Coffey abstained.
