State Representative, House Majority Floor Leader and lifelong educator, John "Bam" Carney, will hold yet another key position within the education policy community as chair of the Southern Regional Education Board's Legislative Advisory Council. The Atlanta-based Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) is a nonpartisan organization that works to improve public education at every level. It is consistently recognized as a leader in education policy as well as for providing state leaders with reliable data and research aimed at strengthening student learning through effective state policies. The organization also provides opportunities for state leaders to collaborate in order to share resources and ideas aimed at improving student outcomes.
