Waters allowed us plenty of time to float down the Cumberland River. New exit on the Cumberland Parkway in Russell County 2019-07-07 - Russell County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Construction is ongoing on the new Cumberland Parkway/KY 910 interchange in Russell County. The Kentucky Department of Highways announced a temporary close on a portion of East Mount Eden Road at the intersection of KY 910 in Russell County in mid-June as a part of the KY 910/Cumberland Parkway interchange project. The $6.3 million project will consist of new on and off ramps constructed at the east KY 910 overpass near the Russell/Casey County line. The Cumberland Parkway travels from just north of Bowling Green to Somerset, Kentucky. It passes Glasgow and access to Barren River Lake State Resort Park, Edmonton, Columbia and access to Green River Lake, and Russell Springs with access to Lake Cumberland State Resort Park. Tamara writes, "I was hoping some of your readers could help with identifying this strange insect (it has a partner) in my zinnia garden. It has the head of a moth, the body of a bumblebee and maneuvers like a hummingbird. We've just started seeing these around here in the last couple of years and can't help but wonder what they are as they're so strange!"
