Heavy rains and thunderstorm rolling over the area

2019-07-30 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Huge raindrops fell over Adair County in the middle of the afternoon today, July 30, 2019, as thunderstorms rolled past and the sun was shining through the gray clouds. This view is of the Columbia Sav A Lot parking area, looking out toward Bryant Realty. I asked a shopper what it meant when the sun was shining and it was raining at the same time? She said her family always said when that happened it meant the devil was beating his wife. Now there's something to ponder. Again in the early evening rain and thunderstorms are passing over. Drive safely tonight! - LW

Scenic Adair County: Down the Purdy Sano Road

2019-07-30 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Green stretches as far as one can see driving down the Purdy Sano Road. When I see views like this one I'm reminded that some older folks used to say purdy for pretty and in this section of Adair County, both words equal "pretty." - LW
