Baylee Karolyne Cowan is a new August arrival, born August 20, 2019 to parents Brady Cowan and Kara Spinks. She weighed seven pounds and twelve ounces. She is held here by her grandmother, AC Judge Executive Gale Cowan, when she and granddad Jamie Cowan visited. She is their first grandchild.

Cat and Mouse on the rocks

The Adair County Arts Council is hosting an exhibit of works by local artists, now underway in the Lucretia C. Begley Gallery in the Slider Humanities Center on the campus of Lindsey Wilson College. Works on display include this playful set entitled Cat and Mouse painted on rocks, a specialty of Gerri Reynolds of the Knifley area of Adair County. The exhibit is free and open to the public now through September 20, 2019. A reception will be held at 6pmCT Thursday, September 19, 2019.

Opie the cat looks for shade under the cactus

Cats love heat, but even cats may be ready for the cooler days coming our way. Opie the Siamese (named for little Opie Cunningham of Mayberry fame) looks for a little shade on the porch under the cactus plant in his Breeding, KY home.
