Adair County’s Joe Spires is featured in the September issue of Kentucky Monthly magazine. He proudly shared the article at the Revisit Knifley festival last weekend. He grew up in Spout Springs and worked with Henry Giles to help create the Janice Holt and Henry Giles cabin in Knifley where the authors wrote some twenty books. I was born in Nagoya, Japan, and I am part Japanese on my mother's side. Hunter writes, "We lived through Elvis, Rock and Roll, and the Black Widow Hot Rod Club. Beautiful people. Well, maybe a little older."
