As the sun sets over Columbia today, we watch from what will be the entry to the new home of the Adair County fairgrounds. At 4:30pm Wednesday, September 25, 2019, the Bank of Columbia Board of Directors announced the donation of over 10 acres of land in the Columbia Adair County Industrial Park to the Fairground Association. The future Adair County Fair home will now be located across from IMO Pump (formerly DeLaval), 211 Industrial Park Road. The new Fairgrounds will be near the Joe Johnson Little League Park, Morgan Smith Industries, the Business Card printing company, White Millworks and Fastenal. Educators Dr. Rodney White and his wife Donna Banks White retired home to Adair County and are contributing their energies to projects needing help, especially the Adair Heritage Association project of helping restore the county's only Rosenwald School, Flatwoods Grade Center. Today, they led a team of Lindsey Wilson College volunteers who gave their energies to the project. Before going to work, Dr. White gave a brief lesson on what the school was and the significance of the Rosenwald connection.
