Old Brush Creek Bridge Re-visited, Green County

2019-10-06 - Green Co., KY - Photo by Robert Ellis.
Back in July I posted a pic of this bridge from a different perspective. That original photo was taken from the bridge that is partially viewable in this photo. I was a little ill prepared to take this image since I had left my wading boots at home, plus it started to rain, and continued while I was standing in the creek.

Navigating the extremely slick bottomed creek, (close to going down 3 times) in soaked Red Wing boots, fogged up camera lens and glasses I was ultimately rewarded with this photo. --ROBERT ELLIS. (c) Robert Ellis Woodworking

Scenic Kentucky: Lake Herrington

2019-10-06 - Mercer Co., KY - Photo by Evan Waggener.
A view of the E.W. Brown Generating Station on the shores of Lake Herrington near Harrodsburg. According to the LG&E/KU web site, "the E.W. Brown Plant is unique in that it showcases four generations of electricity-producing facilities -- a hydroelectric plant, a coal-fired generating unit, natural-gas fired combustion turbines and a universal solar facility."

1955 Pontiac Star Chief hood ornament

2019-10-06 - Louisville, KY - Photo by Pen.
There was a car show at the air show yesterday (the Bowman Field Aviation Heritage Festival, which continues today). There didn't seem to be any particular aviation theme to the collection of cars on display, but this red 1955 Pontiac Star Chief hood ornament seemed perfectly appropriate.
