UPDATE - Dog and family reunited. This dog has been at Car Smart Auto Sales, 106 Fairground Street in Columbia for two days. Looks and acts lost. Hope someone can stop by and help.

Cast your vote for your favorite SquareCrow and register for prizes at the Adair County retired teachers booth while you’re on the Square for downtown days tonight and all day Saturday, October 11 and 12, 2019. Candy Flowers, at right, is voting for her favorite at the booth. From left at the table are: Kim Goodin, Jane Branham, and Betty Knifley. There's a Fall basket, a Christmas basket, and season passes to Adair County high school basketball games, UK basketball game tickets and season passes to Lindsey Wilson College current year games among the opportunities to win when you buy a ticket here. Proceeds help to fund the $500 scholarship awarded to an Adair County student Majoring in education at Lindsey Wilson College.

Smoke is rising, in a good way, and food booths are opening

Food booths were finishing setting up and starting the cooking fires at 3pmCT on Burkesville Street, ready to start sales at the 4pm opening of 2019 Downtown Days on the Public Square in Columbia. Click on 'local events' for this evening's activities plus all day events tomorrow.

James Roberts and Mitzi Bault admire finished SquareCrow

Creative girl reporter Mitzi Bault asked James Roberts to please thank his son, Jamison, who helped her unload bales of hay to start the process on the ColumbiaMagazine.com SquareCrow she engineered. From there she stuffed the pants and shirt, put a coat on her SquareCrow and waited for the face of her Uncle Ed to be printed at Trifecta Print to add the final touch in her tribute to him. By the deadline for getting it all together, it had taken the print shop, the hay farm, Ricky's pickup truck, three women, two grandchildren and a pack of tools to complete the job of the first ever CM SquareCrow. There are 60 in the competition!

Square now closed to traffic

The Public Square in Columbia is being closed off for the Downtown Days festival activities tonight and tomorrow. Vehicles will need to get around town using the alleyways.
