Willow Heseman-ACMS Student of the Month
2019-10-16 - Columbia, KY - Photo from Deb Waddell. Willow Heseman is the 13 year old daughter of Lavina Pyles. She is in 8th grade at ACMS. Willow is a person who sees a need and wants to help find a solution.
For example, Mrs. Carter was discussing how she could possibly cover the cafeteria windows for lock down drills. Willow came back to school with curtains she had made for the cafeteria. Willow is also a very giving person.
She brings in candy to share with her teachers and classmates frequently. She grew pumpkins this summer and decorated several of her teachers' desks with a pumpkin from her patch.
If anyone needs help, they know they can always count on Willow for support whether it is a kind word, a smile, or a funny remark. Willow was the only girl on the ACMS wrestling team but that didn't bother her at all. In fact, she accepted the challenge and proved herself on the wrestling mat several times!
Willow is a hard worker and will have many future successes in her life! We are very proud of her at ACMS and look forward to seeing what her future holds. -- Debra Waddell

Hopeful blossom out of time
2019-10-15 - Sano - Photo by Jackie Montgomery. The little white flower should not be here this time of year, but it is. The Peach blossom seemed a symbol of hope to me, bravely blooming out of its normal season.
