A pair of Tulip Poplar, better known as Yellow Poplar, welcome each and every visitor to Homeplace as they make their way along Homeplace Road. Along with Black Walnut, Dogwood and others, the duo are proud edge trees standing tall between forest and field. On this beautiful mid-Autumn morning, the sun is warming and illuminating their very recognizable, whitish-gray bark. Looking upward into their crowns, one can see many brownish seed pods still attached. As the seed pods flare open, the winged seed are loosened by movement created by changing weather conditions and dispersed by the wind.
