Travel: The YM Wind stops in Savannah

2019-11-28 - Savannah, GA - Photo by Pen.
The Yang Ming Wind, a cargo ship registered out of Hong Kong, is one of the larger container ships to visit the East Coast. It is capable of carrying 14,000 shipping containers in a single load, and is so tall that Savannah had to replace a bridge over the river to accomodate it.

Remembering Veterans Fred Collins and Murvin Grant

2019-11-28 - Columbia - Photo from Sheila Grant Neat.
We recently discovered newspapers from the end of the war - Grandfather Fred T. Collins of Glens Fork, KY and my Grandmother had saved the old papers announcing the war was over. I couldn't believe the papers were in such great shape. I have more if your readers are interested in them. I had planned on sharing it at the 100th anniversary but hid them from myself. LOL. The Newspapers are large and hard to get in a picture that we're able to read so I made several close ups so it would be readable.

My Dad, Murvin Grant of Glens Fork, served in World War II. Very proud of both of these men.
