In a visit at the Hurt-Foust home Saturday, Laura Foust shared a few things she'd heard from family growing up there. One story was that when in Columbia, John Hunt Morgan, a big buddy of Cravens, stayed here in what they called the Pink Room, the upper right bedroom. So many wonderful stories! She was the guest speaker, presenting a brief glimpse of life and geography in her home country, Ireland. She said she Loves Lindsey Wilson but can't wait for the holiday break so she can eat her home food - the best mashed potatoes in the world - nothing like ours. The City of Columbia is embarking on an adventure in restoration and preservation with the purchase of this historic property which had been primarily in the Hurt family since the late 1800s.
