Birds of Kentucky: Ring-billed Gull

A ring-billed gull spotted at the Green River Lake Tailwater Recreation Area. This photo is from early January a few years back.

Currently, the Tailwater Recreation Area is closed to the public, due to a maintenance project. Due to flooding conditions, Site 1 boat ramp, Smith Ridge boat ramp, and Wilson Creek Recreation Area remain closed at this time. The lake level is 699.4 feet on 4 January 2020, well above summer pool.

The only horse out in the rain

Zach Shaw and Ketayah Taylor are ready for college

Campbellsville High students are working hard to become college and career ready. CHS senior Ketayah Taylor recently completed the requirements to become college ready. Zach Shaw, a junior, recently passed the Google Analytics and ASK business concepts for marketing exam, and, as a result, is now college and career ready in marketing.

Pay taxes today, 3 Jan 2020, to avoid penalty

If you're new in town, you need to know today is the last day to pay City taxes at City Hall in Columbia, located at 116 Campbellsville Street. The actual building is red brick, however, it does not look like this City Hall from the holiday decorations at the Holloway Health and Wellness Center at Lindsey Wilson College. It's even more obvious this is a pretend City Hall since we've had no snow since winter arrived.
