ACMS Student of the Month is Matt McGuffin

Matt McGuffin is the 14 year old son of Matthew and Kristy McGuffin. Matt is an 8th grader at Adair County Middle School where he is an Honor Roll Student. Matt is well liked by his peers and adults because he always shows PRIDE! Matt displays a positive attitude and shows respect and integrity to everyone he meets. His determination to excel shows in all his classes through his excellent work ethic. Matt exhibits excellence through his attitude, work and extra curricular activities. He is an active member of the ACMS FFA where he serves as a committee chairperson. Matt is an excellent student and great role model for our younger students. We look forward to hearing great accomplishments from Matt in the future.

CU to have annual Martin Luther King Chapel speaker

Dr. William H. Turner, professor, writer, speaker and consultant, will speak at the Campbellsville University Martin Luther King Jr. chapel service on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 9amCT/10amET, 401 N. Hoskins Avenue, Campbellsville, Ky.

Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through a variety of informative speakers and presentations. All chapel services are open to the public and free of charge.

Big department store available for rent

The Big Kmart store in the Kroger shopping center in Russell Springs was closed in 2019 and has signs in the windows that the space is for rent.

Morning has broken bright and clear

Weather reports had called for a possible half inch of snow this morning and a light icy mix of rain and snow was coming down around 2amCT. I half way expected a wake up call telling me busses would run late, but instead, saw the beautiful blue sky with clouds heading out of the area. This good morning view is looking toward the Columbia United Methodist Church steeple with the Lindsey Wilson College campus landmarks, the John Begley Chapel dome at left, and the water tower at far right, in the background. - LW
