Ideas shared in Economic Development Authority

Beka Burton, Project Manager with the Kentucky Economic Development Cabinet, met with members of the Adair County EDA February 14, 2020. The lunch meeting was a casual session where she offered ideas on how Columbia and Adair County can be more competitive in recruiting jobs and took questions from those in attendance. She also offered an update on the state office under the new governor and the coming name change from "Think Kentucky" to "Team Kentucky." At the regular monthly meeting on February 18, Chairman Bobby Morrison said that crossing of the pipeline in the road in the Green River Industrial Park was the main topic, and progress is being made.

Birds of Kentucky: American Tree Sparrow

All About Birds says about the American Tree Sparrow, "Small flocks of American Tree Sparrows hop about on the ground, scrabbling for grass and weed seeds, calling back and forth with a soft, musical twitter. Individuals may perch in the open atop goldenrod stalks or shrubs, or on low tree branches."
