Betty Knifley, at right, presented facts about honey at the Adair County Extension Office this week and leaders of local Homemakers Clubs were in attendance so the information can go out to all. Pictured seated are Homemakers President Sharon Harris and her daughter Kim, at left. For those of us who thought of honey only as a delicious sweetener, there's more to know. Honey never spoils if stored in an airtight container. Honey is an ancient gift - it has been discovered in tombs and it is discussed in the Holy Bible. It is one of the only unlimited-shelf-life foods in the world. Honey is medicinal. Evidence of it being prescribed as a medical treatment dates back as far as ancient Mesopotamia. Fire run made to Southern Drive in Campbellsville 2020-02-21 - Taylor County, KY - Photo by Chris Taylor, Chief, Campbellsville Fire-Rescue. Campbellsville Fire-Rescue was dispatched to a report of a working structure fire in a residence on Southern Drive. Upon arrival firefighters found moderate smoke coming from the front door of the residence. Firefighters searched the residence, extinguished the fire and provided overhaul to the residence. There was moderate fire and smoke damage to the residence. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No civilian or firefighter injuries was reported. National FFA Week was proclaimed locally by Adair County Judge Executive Gale Cowan for the week of February 22-29, 2020. FFA promotes citizenship, volunteerism, patriotism and cooperation.
