Daffodil Watch 2020: at Josiah Hunter Cemetery 2020-03-10 - Columbia - Photo by Victoria Pike of Miss Vicky\'s Pampered Angus Ranch for ColumbiaMagazine.com. This is the Josiah Hunter Cemetery located on Stotts Lane about one mile south of the Cumberland Parkway off Burkesville Road next to the Connie Stotts property and my Hunter Place Farm. These flowers have probably adorned this Cemetery since the late 1800’s. My great great Grandfather, Josiah Hunter 1805-1884 is buried here along with at least 4 family members. The flowers spread out into the field which makes me wonder if the Cemetery is larger but 5 stones is all I can find. I can remember picking flowers there most of my life. Some call them March Lilies but I’ve always called them Buttercups. I transferred some of the bulbs to my house but they were eaten by something and no longer come up. Birds of Kentucky: Cooper's Hawk 2020-03-10 - Shelbyville, KY - Photo by Pen. A Cooper's Hawk, or possibly a juvenile sharp-shinned hawk. All About Birds says that "Sharp-shinned Hawks are agile fliers that speed through dense woods to surprise their prey, typically songbirds."
