Emma Grider gives a call to action in Adair arts 2020-03-21 - Cranmer Dining Center, Lindsey Wilson College - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. ACHS senior Emma Grider made a strong call to action for more opportunities in the arts in Adair County at the March Chamber of Commerce meeting. Her passion for expanding the arts was heightened during her experience at the Governor's School for the Arts last summer. She said, "I want to make sure that every artist in Adair County has the opportunity to go forth and make great art; One day, I'd like to be able to came back home and watch a school play on a real stage instead of the high school cafeteria; I want to see just as many people at choir concerts or band competitions as there are at basketball games and I want to see students paintings displayed somewhere other than the school basement." Columbiamagazine.com asks all student presenters to share their words when possible - they are the future of Adair County. Daffodil Watch 2020: This Old House 2020-03-20 - Monroe Co., KY - Photo by Wayne Baxter. Wayne writes: On 2-21-2019 you had a photo by Tommy Bailey captioned What might this big old house say if walls could talk?. It is 3.92 miles SE of Tompkinsville on Ky 163. I have passed it several times since then and on March 9, 2020, I made this picture of the rear oh the house . I thought it might fit in the daffodil album. Back in the 50's the house was owned and occupied by an older man named Wolford Moore. He was fiddle player. I thought I heard a few bars of "Up Jumped the Devil" as I snapped this photo.
