Burning home required two fire departments 2020-07-20 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. The Adair County Fire Department was called out around noon Saturday, July 18, 2020 to a fire at the home of Mike and Kathy Jones on Pelham Branch Road. A representative of the AFD said the fire possibly started in the attic and the home was a total loss. Breeding Fire Department also assisted in bringing the fire under control. For two weekends now ColumbiaMagazine.com has looked back at bear news in the archives after being prompted by the recent sighting and documentation of a real live bear in next door Cumberland County. Mike Watson continued coverage on this subject in his Sunday article about bears in our history and a particular story of "a piece of bad judgment and recklessness".
