COVID-19 Adair: week ends with 7 total deaths

4-24-2020 Update: Adair County has 11 new cases of COVID-19 today. 9 are residents and 2 are employees of Summit Manor Nursing Home. We also have to report 1 more death for today, a resident of SMNH. We have had 3 released from isolation today. We now have 76 total cases with 9 being released from isolation and 7 deaths. We have 60 active cases with 47 in home or SMNH Isolation and 13 in area hospitals.

Clouds on the move, storms predicted today

Storms are predicted in this changing weather today, Saturday, April 25, 2020. Emergency Management Director Mike Keltner reports that the Adair County Courthouse Annex is open for shelter. Severe storms are expected to be past Adair County by 8pmCT. The Farmers Market on the Square was able to maintain hours today with steady business until hard rains came after the noon hour. We had a brief time of sunshine and now, 2pmCT, we are heading into stormy skies. This view is from the FM2 corner looking toward Lindsey Wilson College, the chapel on the left and campus water tower on the right, with the Christian Church steeple and Justice Center flags in the middle.

New friends in a moment of play

These two new friends came together recently in Columbia - the dog is a permanent resident already and the little boy and his family are making arrangements to move here. Even though they weren't part of the same clan, there's always time for a moment of friendly play.
