Billy Joe writes, "Orchard Grass growing in the parking areas between the exit bypass and house at Homeplace on Green River. Orchard Grass is a cool-season grass, meaning it does most of its growing in the spring and fall and growth slows during the hot summer months."

Birds of Kentucky: Northern Rough-winged Swallow

According to the All About Birds entry for Stelgidopteryx serripennis, "The Northern Rough-winged Swallow gets its name from minuscule hooks on the leading edge of their primary feathers. Running a finger along the edge of the feather from base to the tip feels like touching a rough file."
