Downtown Columbia

2020-06-07 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Larry J. Smith, General Manager, The Big Dawg, FM 99.9 radio.
Larry sends this old photo from the days of Marshall's Shoes and Columbia Appliance. We can't make out the movie at the Columbian Theater, but we're pretty sure Robert Redford was the leading man.

Now blooming in the Julia Miller Horton Rose Garden

2020-06-06 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
The City of Columbia invites you to experience the beautiful memorial dedications blooming at the Julia Miller Horton Rose Garden on Jamestown Street. Many varieties of roses have been added to the existing garden. Each plant’s variety - such as this Olympiad Hybrid Tea Rose - is identified along with the loved one the rose bush was donated in memory of. This project is still a work in progress but is coming right along and promises to be a sight to behold when in “full bloom.” We invite you to visit the garden located on Jamestown Hill at the Trabue-Russell House. - Mayor Pam Hoots
