Keeahna Bowen, second row center, student taught in Jessica Lile's fifth grade class at Campbellsville Elementary School for the first half of her spring semester. The second half, spent in Luci Shofner's third grade class, was cut short due to COVID-19. The photo was taken before social distancing was enacted.

Farm Report: little corner of heaven

The girls, and a few boys, looked so pretty on their corner of heaven in the farming community of Greater Bliss, I couldn't resist taking their picture. Everything got mowed and fertilized recently so it's green. Money green. They enjoy looking onto the surrounding happenings in New Columbia.

Have a wonderful week and remember we are opening the polls this morning to vote at 8am. Poll workers will be in the Annex basement to assist you with in-person voting from 8am to 4pmCT daily, Monday through Friday, and on Saturday from 8am to 11am for the next two weeks and Election Day, June 23, 2020.

Sunday morning demonstration: WWJD?

Posters held up in Sunday morning's peaceful demonstration against hatred, racism and violence had messages "What Would Jesus Do?" and "Black Lives are Lives, Too". Some stood around the Courthouse Square while others parked on the square and flashing hazard lights for the nine minutes of the protest.

Standing against hatred, racism and violence

Sunday morning, June 7, 2020 at 9amCT a peaceful demonstration was held in front of the Courthouse annex in Columbia to protest hatred, racism and violence. Participants stood for 9 minutes of silence to remember the 9 minutes George Floyd was held to the ground as his life was taken.

Lost, injured dog in need of help

Update 11:20amCT, dog has been reunited with its owner. Don't call Bo. A dog showed up at our home in the Longhunters subdivision, Columbia, this morning. It's injured. Contact Bo at 270-634-3031.
