Jeanne and Charlie Marshburn, pictured with International Student Program students, are host parents with the ISP at LWC. Jeanne and Charlie write: "I believe it was 6 years ago we became host parents. Charlie was very instrumental in getting us started. I was hesitant, thinking we had very little to offer these young people from across the world. I had no idea what a wonderful experience we were beginning. We've had about 20 official students and a dozen or so unofficial. And we've enjoyed every single one of them. They are truly "our kids". We've experienced happy times and sad times, successes and disappointments, laughter and tears. There are no words adequate to describe the wonders that come with being a host parents. Looking forward to what's ahead for us all." One of their former students, Fiona Curty, from Switzerland, wrote this about her time with the Marshburns: "My dearest host family. They made my American experience an American dream, and I am so grateful for them and for Lindsey Wilson College for their host family program. I could not thank you enough Jeanne McGill Marshburn and Charles Marshburn for welcoming you into your home a few years ago, it definitely made my time so much better and my experience so much richer. Wikipedia says of Trifolium repens, "the white clover (also known as Dutch clover, Ladino clover, or Ladino), is a herbaceous perennial plant in the bean family Fabaceae (previously referred to as Leguminosae). It is native to Europe, including the British Isles, and central Asia and is one of the most widely cultivated types of clover. It has been widely introduced worldwide as a forage crop, and is now also common in most grassy areas (lawns and gardens) of North America and New Zealand."
