Casey Elementary, Mrs. Keen taught everyone about the importance of milkweed plants to monarch butterflies, and how to spot the eggs and caterpillars on milkweed plants. On a recent hike through the Grand Allee at Beckley Creek Park, there weren't many monarchs to be seen yet on the this year's crop of milkweed plants, but there was a lot of colorful insect activity on a smaller scale.
