Miles and Emerson at the Little League Park

Some of the best expressions shared this week come from Gina Collins who caught these moments with her children at the Joe Johnson Little League Park in Columbia. Son Miles (after getting the game ball for playing so well) said, "Mom, Snapchat all your friends a picture of me with the game ball looking surprised because I’m also surprised I got the game ball!" His little sister Emerson provided cheerleading motivation for him, "Play ball!! Go, Miles, go!!!"

JOY Ministries open 11-3 Wednesday and Friday

At the ballot draw

Two of seven candidates for Columbia City Council - Dr. Ronald Rogers, center, and Linda Waggener, at right - were present with Adair County Clerk Lisa Greer, at left, for the traditional ballot draw Thursday, July 16, 2020 . Positions were drawn in order of dates candidates filed for office. On the November General Election ballot, the order of candidates as drawn will be: 1 Mark Harris, 2 Ben Burris, 3 Ronald Rogers, 4 Robert Flowers, 5 Linda Waggener, 6 Craig Dean and 7 Sharon Payne. Masks were worn by everyone in the office as required, and distance was practiced to help curb the spread of the Coronavirus.
