Adair County EDA Chairman Bobby Morrison explains the layout of the Green River Industrial Park at the August meeting this week. Masks were worn and the meeting was held in the lower level of the Chamber building to provide for social distancing to help curb the spread of the Coronavirus. Morrison has worked for several months on efforts for an expanded road through the Park which would open up the lower half, 144 acres, to development. Looking at the map, entry from Hwy 55 N is at the upper left. The present road goes just past properties owned by ATS on both sides of the road. Kaylee Ann Whitaker of Somerset, KY has accepted a full scholarship to Vanderbilt University's Pre-Veterinary Medicine program. She is the daughter of Amy and Jason Whitaker of northern Pulaski County, the granddaughter of Mitzi and Ricky Bault and great granddaughter of Fay McKinley, all of Columbia. She is 2020 graduate of Pulaski County High School working toward her dream. She has worked with veterinarians in both Mt. Vernon and in Somerset after school and in summer. Tim Hooker, instructor in English as a Second Language (ESL) at Campbellsville University, graduated July 25, 2020 from Union University with his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Higher Education Leadership degree. He has been teaching at CU for seven years. He has taught all 15 of the ESL courses for the university's ESL Institute. Some of Hooker's most frequent classes include Intermediate Listening, Advanced Reading and Intermediate Writing. He also served as a reader for Pathways 2, the current Intermediate Listening textbook. He has been involved with numerous international student activities both on and off campus throughout his time at CU, including Bible studies, fellowship events, and Beijing Information Management Schools (BIMS) summer activities.He and his wife Gantuya are pictured with their son, Josiah.
