Columbia native Ann Curtis writes, "After seeing Doug Beard’s beautiful photo essay of the Columbia United Methodist Church and the wall of its former pastors, I recalled that at least one of those pastors had a later claim to fame. Reverend Leslie Chapman, pastor of CUMC in the 1950s, officiated at the wedding of Johnny Cash and June Carter. They were married in the Methodist Church in Franklin, Ky in 1968." The local newspaper, the Franklin Favorite, reported the event with the note that the night before the wedding the couple had won a Grammy award for their song, "Jackson". Dr. James Angel, practitioner in Campbellsville, KY 2020-09-19 - Photo from the family. James Raymond Angel, M.D. 69, set up his private practice in Campbellsville, Kentucky in 1980. He served the communities of central Kentucky tirelessly as a practicing physician and Urologic surgeon for 38 years before retiring in 2018. He was instrumental in the creation of The Cancer Center at Taylor Regional Hospital and founder of Taylor Regional Urology which continues his legacy of medical service in central Kentucky. Robyn Ogden asks her mom to take her to the City park on Fairgrounds Street that she calls the “blue park." The family is not sure why she calls it that except for the blue colors on the playground equipment and then there's the connection to Lindsey Wilson College Blue Raiders who use the former fairgrounds to practice sports and athletics. Robyn will be 5 in February and will be starting preschool this fall. She is the daughter of Rachel Sheckles and Chad Ogden. Her Columbia grandparents are Roy and Christine Rademacher.
