Another oil well strike on Hwy 61 Tuesday
2020-12-23 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Victoria Pike, Spread Boss, Miss Vicky\'s Pampered Angus Ranch. This well was drilled in yesterday afternoon south of Cumberland Parkway and the Hunter Place, part of the Pampered Angus Ranch. The smell of oil was thick in the air. No comments yet on how the girls like or dislike the smell of fresh crude oil. Guess they will have to get used to it. Merry Christmas to all. - Vicky

JOY - Thank you for being His hands and feet
2020-12-23 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Maggie Coleman, Treasurer. J.O.Y. Ministries has reached its goal of $14,000 for the 2020 annual campaign. Ashley Smith and Faith Anderson place the star at the top of the thermometer Christmas tree on the public square. This pays for 1/3 of the annual operating budget for the Crisis Center (food pantry and assistance), Shelter, Mission Week and various other local outreaches we do during the year.
Maggie writes, "Thank you so much for helping us be able to get started on a new year of serving the community. We didn’t always know where the volunteers or the food/financial resources were going to come from this year in the middle of a global pandemic that hit our rural Appalachian area pretty hard but the Lord took care of it all. I’m not sure why we ever wonder; our humanity shows. But thanks be to God for His unfailing provision. Thank you for being His Hands & Feet this year."
