Country Life Winter Wonderland
2021-02-19 - Adair Co., KY - Photo by Beth Bailey. Beth writes, "A country winter wonderland with a scenic barn in the background, and vibrantly beautiful cardinals enjoying the corn and sunflower seeds. A slow, simple glimpse of a time past, when life was indeed slow and simple."

Postcards from LWC: Aalap Dulal from Nepal
2021-02-19 - Nepal - Photo courtesy Aalap Dulal. By Dakota Smith
ISP #postcardsfromlindsey would like to present Aalap Dulal from Nepal. When asked what the hardest adjustment he had to make when moving to America was, he said some immigration processes. He chose to come to Lindsey because he said it was the best option for his degree. The most interesting place Aalap has been to is Yellowstone National Park!
His favorite tradition from home is wearing Daura Suruwal and Dhaka topi, which is their national outfit, during their cultural programs.

Above all, be courteous
2021-02-19 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Victoria Pike of Miss Vicky\'s Pampered Angus Ranch. I certainly hope that folks are understanding of how the roads are cleared. The state is responsible for the Cumberland Parkway and State roads. Parkway must be cleared before anything else. Priority 1 road. Then the State roads 61, 80, 55.
The County is responsible for clearing county roads. State is not allowed on those.
Then the City is responsible for City side streets.
So be sure, before you fuss at someone for not clearing your road, you are calling the correct person. When all else fails do like I did. Clear your own. Miss Mahindra did her job today.
Above all, be courteous. Our crews, no matter who they work for, have been at it for several days with long hours. Thank you. - Miss Vicky

Bird smorgasbord
2021-02-18 - Columbia, KY - Photo by George Kolbenschlag. Here is a "charm" of Goldfinches in their winter coats sharing a smorgasbord of seed (less the pickled fish) on my back patio. My bird feeders were frozen over, and I felt sorry for the neighborhood collection of winged lovelies so I put this on my open patio. It took about ten minutes before the birds found it. At one point I had five species at one time sharing the dinner table. In addition to the Goldfinches there were Cardinals, several species of Sparrows, Blue Jays, Tufted Titmouse's, Chickadees, Nuthatches, Juncos, and even a Mockingbird, Robin and an unkempt Starling or two. No Bald Eagle since there was no fish on the platter.
