Key Mortgage of KY was honored this morning by the Kentucky Housing Corporation as a Top Producing Lender during 2020 as part of the KHC 16th Annual Lender Recognition Awards. In previous years, awards have been presented during an honorary luncheon ceremony. For 2021, KHC's Laurent Houekpon (at right) came to Columbia to present an award to Darrell Overstreet (at left) and the staff of Key Mortgage of KY. Overstreet was also honored by KHC in 2019, and is a previous recipient of KHC's Dorothy J. Williams Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to "individuals who have devoted much of their career to helping make the dream of affordable housing a reality in Kentucky." Shanti Niketan Hospice House opens in Glasgow 2021-03-12 - Glasgow, KY - Photo courtesy TJ Regional Health. The T.J. Community Mission Foundation Board members are pleased to announce the opening of the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home. The 10,400 square foot facility is located at 1020 Glenview Drive and includes 8 inpatient rooms with the capacity to expand to 12 rooms if needed, kitchen and living spaces, private areas for families and guests along with access to a private patio. The hospice home is designed to provide comfort, counseling and support to a patient with life-limiting illnesses and their family. Keepsake photo of Old Edmonton School 2021-03-12 - Metcalfe County, KY - Photo from family collection. Larry Cooksey shares the landmark "Old Edmonton School" pictured before it was torn down. He wrote, "this is the closing of the old Edmonton School in about 1970. My daughter, Donna Lynn Cooksey Jessie, of the Old School Cafe, was about seven years old. I loved that school." He shares the love of that place with so many who attended or had family who attended the school. My Dad, Earl Reid Marcum, and Uncle Russell Hughes were basketball players when they were students there. Hospital District update at Fiscal Court meeting 2021-03-12 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Neal Gold, standing, provided an update on the Hospital District tax at the first Adair County Fiscal Court meeting of March 2021. He shared the progress, stating that the board bids the money amount to get the best interest as they manage tax receipts and make payments on the debt. He projects the debt will be paid off in the year 2026 at which time the court may want to abolish the tax or reassign it to pay for other needs of the county.
