Adair County High School Academic Team honored

Mayor Pam Hoots gathered the award-winning academic team members together to acknowledge the honors they have received and name the month of March for them in the city of Columbia. Adair County High School Academic Team members from left: Amber Loy, Abby Claywell, Caylin Coffman, Sadie camp, and Evan Smith. Coach Brett Reliford is at right. Unable to be present for the picture were: Hayden Hancock, Ronan Flaherty, Alannah Bowman, and Brody Blair.

Honors given to Adair Academic Teams

Adair County School District Academic Teams came together Monday, March 15, 2021 to have a proclamation signed in their honor making March Academic Team Month in Columbia, Adair County. Seated in front of the students are Mayor Pam Hoots, center; School Superintendent Pam Stevens at right; and Police Chief Junior Murphy at left. Students names will appear with their individual team photos.

Parkway reopens to traffic after all day closure


2021-03-15 - Exit #46 westbound, Columbia, KY - Photo by Victoria Pike of Miss Vicky's Pampered Angus Ranch.
Checking out my front view at Exit #46 onto the Cumberland Parkway, the wrecked semi was being hauled away after an all day closure of the westbound lanes to Edmonton. The state truck that had been there hour after hour with lights flashing, blocking entry during accident reconstruction, headed out and the first vehicles were allowed onto the reopened parkway right at 8pm. Kentucky State Police Post 15 is investigating what happened to cause the single vehicle accident early Monday morning.

KSP: Exit 46 closed for rest of day Monday

Road closure update: at 1pmCT Kentucky State Police reported that the Cumberland Parkway between exit 46 in Columbia and Edmonton will be closed for the remainder of the day as they reconstruct the early morning accident. The single commercial vehicle accident reportedly involved a fatality.

Prepare for a detour to Highway 80, roads are wet, and motorists are advised to drive with caution.
