Oil well activity update in New Columbia

This update on the oil well activity in New Columbia is sent by Vicky Pike who writes, “Texas size 57 inch stroke pump jack being put together this morning by Billy Withers of T and B Drilling and Bill Burness of Burness Drilling. Drilling started this morning on the R F Enterprises property (old Kenneth Wheeler farm). Don’t drop that on your toes Billy. Drilling going on in several spots in the neighborhood this morning. I’m on the job with news to follow on more strikes.”

A new view frame

The entry to the new Adair County Genealogy Department at the Library offers this dramatic view of downtown up to the Lindsey Wilson Chapel dome. The department is getting closer to opening. Mike Watson and Ernie Bennett are in the corner at right studying a program that will be made available as they help future patrons. The opening date will be announced soon.

All-In for LWC 48-hour challenge

To make a gift of any amount to the All In for LWC Chair's Challenge during March 30-31, you can give online by clicking on www.lindsey.edu/giving. You can also call the college's development office at 270-384-8400. Gifts can be restricted to a specific program or can be unrestricted to the general fund.

All-In for LWC 48-hour challenge begins Tue 30 March

The 48-hour yearly event to raise money for student aid will begin on Tuesday, March 30 and will last until midnight on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. The social media campaign dubbed "All-In For LWC" is traditionally held during the fall semester but was postponed in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

To make a gift of any amount to the All In for LWC Chair's Challenge during March 30-31, you can give online by clicking on www.lindsey.edu/giving. You can also call the college's development office at 270-384-8400.

Adair Garden Club begins beautification work
