The Columbia Police Department wishes to thank Landon Rayburn of L&N Firearms for the donation of a Glock 17 with night sights. The firearm will be used by The Columbia Police Department as an on duty service weapon. Pictured with Rayburn, center, are Officer Gary Roy and Firearms Instructor Officer Drew Conn.

City Council April meeting

The Columbia City Council met in the basement of City Hall to allow social distancing for the April 7, 2021 meeting. Pictured from left are Council members Robert Flowers and Mark Harris, City Clerk Rhonda Loy, Mayor Pamela Hoots, and Council members Craig Dean, Linda Waggener and Sharon Payne. Council member Ronald Rogers and City Attorney Derrick Helm attended virtually. Also present were Columbia Police Chief Jr Murphy, Gas Department Director Jerry Watson, members of the media and Jason Rector. The meeting room does not allow enough space for the public but the office is open at 116 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, phone 270-384-2501.
