American Legion Post 65 holds clothing drive in April

American Legion Post 65, Edmonton-Metcalfe County Kentucky is having a clothing drive to benefit the Kentucky Veterans Brigade (KVB) through April. On Monday, April 5 Bill and Chris Lagermann delivered a truckload of clothing to the organization that filled four shopping cards and a flat-bed cart to help support the KVB.

From left are: Kentucky Veterans Brigade representative Bob Belcher, Jim Manley, Finance Officer of American Legion Post 23 Bowling Green KY and Bill Lagermann, Membership Officer of American Legion Post 65, Edmonton-Metcalfe County with a load of clothing for veterans.

Campaign to Clean Up Metcalfe County underway

Metcalfe County Solid Waste Coordinator Scotty Mosby announced the kick off of 'Clean Up Metcalfe County'. The County will have dumpsters in Center beside the bank, in Edmonton at the Fairgrounds, and in Summer Shade at the Firehouse. Citizens are asked not to throw tires, paint or chemicals in the dumpsters as these are only for cleanup. He is asking for volunteers to pick up trash on the roadsides and at public parks. He said, "I would like to thank Melissa Coomer and kids for volunteering - let's all get together on this and take pride in our county." - Scotty Mosby, Metcalfe County Solid Waste Coordinator.
