Billboard needs improvement

Tommy Bailey spotted this aging billboard near the Transfer Station. He writes, "Once upon a time I'm sure this billboard has seen better days, but the way it stands now it's somewhat of an eyesore. It's very visible from the Parkway, and if restored would be very beneficial to some business."

Daughter of honored WWII soldier at ceremony

Sheila Parrish Rankin, daughter of Taylor Parrish, was among guests at the American Legion Post 119 in Burkesville in the special ceremony honoring her father and his two brothers, Barney and Watson, for their service in WWII.

American Legion Post 119 was chosen as the place to preserve the Parrish Brothers flags and medals. They were shared at a special event on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the Cumberland County High School. The awards are on display at Post 119's new American Legion Hall "The Service Station", in Burkesville, KY.
