Roses are coming in at Trabue Russell House

ACHS Sources of Strength at City Hall

The newly created Mental Health Flag was presented to Columbia Mayor Pamela Hoots, at right, at City Hall Thursday by the Adair County High School Sources of Strength group. The goal is for the flag to become a global symbol for supporting all mental health initiatives and all those affected by mental illness. The Sources of Strength group at ACHS partnered with Mrs. Kim Brian and the Pete Foundation to sell the flags locally to raise funds. They are $20 each and can be purchased at ACHS.

Sources of Strength members are, front: Abby Claywell, Amber Loy, Luke Rich, Maison Karnes, Madison Irvin, Lily Loy, Lilly Glass, Sarai Collins, and Mayor Hoots. In back are: Robin Loy, Brody Blair, Emily Murphy, Madeline Hardwick, Ellie Cheatham, Kiley Cowan, and Hallie Burton.

Viewing contents of the 1996 time capsule

Maggie Coleman was pictured among those at Columbia United Methodist Church opening and viewing contents of a time capsule buried in the year 1996 to be opened in 2021. She said one of the most meaningful things she saw among the items in the capsule was the photo of Traci Pooler teaching Sunday School to Kenzie and Beverly Rowe’s child. The contents were shared after the Sunday service.
