Tinnell a leader at CU School of Music

Jennifer Tinnell, a 1987 graduate of Metcalfe County High School, is starting a new chapter in her life at Campbellsville University with the School of Music. In addition to serving as instructor of music, she will be the School of Music's recruiting and public relations coordinator.

Tinnell has served in many roles in the Campbellsville University School of Music including as director of bands from 2008 until 2021, director of the Tiger Marching Band from 2005 to 2018 and assistant director of bands from 2001 until 2008. Prior to coming to CU, she was director of bands for the Marion County School System from 1993 until 2001.

This pretty deer came within 50 feet of the house in Columbia. The path seems to take them by wooded fencerows and along the little Town Creek, which meanders through downtown.

Garden Tour at Biltmore Estate

The popular Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina was our first stop on a trip east and south from Columbia. Their recommendation is to allow two days there, one for the 178,926 square foot home interior and one for the gardens. We chose to explore the gardens and this is one of the exotic plants inside the Conservatory. At first glance, you see the whole arrangement (at left), then after doing a double take, you see the little garden within the plant (at right)

A great Father's Day gift

Neither the high heat nor humidity of Father's Day weekend 2021 stopped the Zornes boys from giving their dad, JD, the gift of completing a major garage overhaul. Sons Adam and Kyle used skills learned from their dad growing up and in just two days the long awaited project was done.
