Thankfully however, I'm seeing them more and more each year, now. This one was seen harvesting nectar from one of its favorite plants, White Clover, which can be seen in the picture. White Clover was attacked by homeowners obsessed with the desire for monoculture lawns which came into vogue a few decades ago. Unfortunately this creates lawns devoid of the necessary plant diversity needed to support a healthy ecosystem. Of course, the exponential increased use of pesticides and herbicides is a huge contributing factor to the demise of many animal species.
