Summer of Service at Family Resource Center 2021-06-29 - Adair County, KY - Photo from LWC Bonner Scholars. Makayla Smith, at left, is doing her second Summer of Service with Mrs. Paula Garrison at the Adair County Primary Center Family Resource Center (FRC). MaKayla has been serving there since before she was a Bonner Scholar. This is their first time together all year, as MaKayla has been doing remote service, and it couldn't be at a better time since Paula is about to retire. MaKayla said she's loving everything about working with the FRC this summer, and that there's "never a dull moment between running reports, helping kids, supervising summer programming, and putting ice cream in the cooler instead of the freezer." New Fairgrounds across from IMO 2021-06-29 - Adair County, KY - Photo from AC Fair. Long term plans for the new Adair County Fairgrounds are to have at least one barn for cattle shows, one building for storage, a concession stand, announcers stand, and a couple of pavilions for pageants and picnics. The club is also wanting to work on getting the main track completed so the Fair Association can book events for the community. Plans are to bring the carnivals back once the track is up and running.
