Eagle Scout Gabe Coleman provided a proposal to the Columbia City Council at its July meeting toward his goal for a replacement of a fading sign across from Blair Park on Greensburg Road. This is a drawing of his proposed sign. On afternoon patrol in Columbia Thursday, CPD Officer Gary Roy observed several children playing together outside, stopped and gave the children badges. While talking to them and the family, he learned it was one of the children’s birthday. Officer Roy soon returned and presented Alexa, pictured with Officer Roy, with ice cream and popsicles for her fourth birthday to share with her siblings and friends. Patteson began soliciting customers his for insurance agency, located on the second floor of the Jeffries building, in January 1913, offering coverage for "Life, health, Accident, Fire, Windstorm and Live stock." These appeared sporadically through the spring of 1915. Come November 1920, Mr. Patteson began offering the odd mix of service and product shown in this image.
