Scout's sign project given full approval
2021-08-04 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. After a one month wait to allow time for discussion, Eagle Scout Gabe Coleman, standing at right, received unanimous approval from the Columbia City Council to proceed with the Scout Troop sign project he proposed. He will work with the City on the design and once that is approved, he anticipates completion will take no more than two months.
The sign location is across from the Jim Blair Park and Recreation Center on Greensburg Road. The property family member, Carol Cheatham Marra, wrote to CM, "My grandparents Valmont and Lottie Holladay Cheatham owned the farm and then my parents, Clyde and Christine Page Cheatham, when they gave permission for the sign to be located on the farm and were proud to have it as a 'welcome' to Columbia."

There was unanimous agreement between these three after Monday night's City Council meeting in Columbia - they're vaccinated and recommend it for everyone who is eligible to just get it done! From left are CPD Chief Jr Murphy and Council Members Mark Harris and Robert Flowers.
The COVID-19 vaccine is safe and very effective according to our Health Department. Of the new cases diagnosed since the vaccine became available, over 97 percent have been among UN-vaccinated residents.
