Wikipedia says of The CitiCar, it "was an electric car produced from 1974 to 1977 by Sebring, Florida-based Sebring-Vanguard, Inc. After being bought out by Commuter Vehicles, Inc, Sebring-Vanguard produced the similar Comuta-Car and Comuta-Van from 1979 to 1982. Accounting for all CitiCar variants, a total of 4,444 units were produced up to 1979, the most since 1945 for an electric car assembled in North America until surpassed by the Tesla Model S." Fara Popplewell Miniard, center, Community Development Specialist with the Lake Cumberland Area Development District, presented details of USDA application grant in progress at the September 7, 2021 City Council meeting. The City has applied for a grant in the amount of $33,997.72 for equipment to be used in police cruisers. The City's contribution would be a third should the grant be approved and the budget be amended to handle it. The meeting was held in the basement of City Hall so everyone could spread out and socially distance in the face of growing COVID-19 virus cases in Adair County.
